“Train up a child in the way he should go,
and when he is old he will not turn from it.”
In Toddler Town, your child(ren) will learn about God and living for Him as they did in Baby City. A curriculum team has developed a curriculum to fit the needs of our children. Your child(ren) will learn biblical virtues through the lessons in the Bible and how those virtues apply to their life. Each virtue is reinforced many times during the morning.
Using the alphabet as our guide, we start with “A is for Attentive,” listening with our ears, eyes, and heart. Then we work our way to “Z is for Zealous.” Each virtue and applicable memory verse is repeated for two Sundays, with a different Bible story to illustrate the virtue each Sunday. Every toddler begins the hour in their “homeroom” with loving adults and teens that serve on Sundays every month. With those volunteer caregivers the children rotate every ten minutes around Toddler Town.
The Art Gallery room is used for crafts, the Schoolhouse for their lesson, a Home for their snack, the Barnyard for their play, and the Church for their worship time. Coming soon!...The Toddler Town International Airport just outside our Farm! The Airport is currently taking donations for equipment.
On Sunday mornings, be sure to read the Toddler Town News
(it is in their paper bag that comes home with them from class)! It tells all about their time in Toddler Town and on the back is a schedule of the morning.
Drop-off & Pick-up Time
The safety of your child is a top priority for us! When you arrive at church, stop by a kiosk to print a name tag for your child. This name tag includes your child’s name, your phone number, and the name of your child’s class. Be sure to bring your CHIP card with you each time you drop off and pick up your child! If you have a cell phone, please turn it on vibrate so we can reach you if necessary. Otherwise, we will put the phone number that is listed on the child’s name tag on the screen in the Worship Center.
Please remember that no parent is allowed past the counter. It keeps our children safe and less traffic down the hallway. You may watch your child’s class on the monitor at the check-in counter.
What to bring to class:
-Diapers & wipes if not potty trained
-Clean change of clothes and underwear in case of accident
-Money for Jesus (We do give money to Jesus in worship time.
Kids like to be able to participate.)
-We will be very busy playing, learning, singing, and making crafts! We
travel from room to room in our hallway and would not want that special blanket or stuffed animal to get lost! It would be best if it did not come to class with your child, but we understand if the child really needs it to transition!
Toddler Town Health Policy
We want to ensure the health of your child, so we work very hard to keep our classrooms clean and sanitized. For this reason, we ask that you not bring your child if they have had any of the following symptoms in the past 24 hours:
-Fever greater than 100 degrees F
-Colored mucus from the nose
-Redness &/or discharge of the eye
-Undiagnosed rash
-Diarrhea &/or vomiting
-Or any other contagious illness
Emergency Situations
Our Toddler Town volunteers have been trained regarding emergency situation and CPR, so that you can fully trust placing your child in our care. In case of an emergency, your family CHIP card will be required for pick-up and you will be asked to sign-out your child on the roster.
Fire: In the case of fire, your child will be taken to the southeast parking lot near Newman Road. This is called the “Special Needs” parking lot. The volunteers from each classroom will be holding a sign to make it easier to find your child’s class outside. Baby City also joins us in the same parking lot. Everyone else will be directed to the soccer fields. For your safety, we ask that parents exit the nearest exit to them at the time of the alarm. Once outside, then you may move toward the SE parking lot where we promise to be easy to find!
Tornado: In the case of a tornado, your child will be taken to a tornado shelter classroom in Baby City. Please pick up your child following normal pick-up procedures after the danger has passed.
Intruder: In the case of an intruder in the building, your child will remain in the classroom until an official has given the “all-clear.” Please pick up your child following normal pick-up procedures.
We continue to have training meetings & CPR classes to ensure that information is up to date for all the volunteers.
