516 North Wall Street ~ Joplin, MO 64801
It wasn’t that long ago that the building at 516 N. Wall was an empty building; it now has come alive with lots of children from Columbia Elementary and the neighborhood! Every Tuesday after school you will find lots of kids, love and volunteers caring for children, many of the children marginalized by poverty and the pain and dysfunction of their homes and neighborhood. To fill that void we take Truth, Relationship and Service, stirred all together by the Holy Spirit and there you have it - Kid’s Club! Games, Bible lessons, crafts and a meal. Our good friend and partner, Lori Musser, the principal at Columbia Elementary made this comment when she heard we would be serving a meal at Kid’s Club, “Oh great, with the meals they get at school, many of our students will receive three meals on that day.” This reminds us of Jesus words He said to His disciples, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent me.” It’s fun to love Jesus and feed him through kids.
If you are interested in helping in any way contact Katie Strawn 499-9269 or email John at jalves@chcchurch.org.

| "Swords of the Lord” is an excellent truth, relationship, and service ministry to the young boys of the Life House neighborhood. It provides strong male leadership roles, an introduction to a physical discipline, and an introduction to the Sword of the Spirit, the Word of God. “Swords of the Lord” is a part of the Kid’s Club program on Tuesday. We shouldn’t be surprised where the next generation of God’s mighty men come from. |

The Learning Center

Life House is offering tutoring after school. This is an opportunity for children who are struggling with school to receive one-on-one help with their studies. If you would like to help, please contact Cathy Robinson 317-2949. Maybe teaching isn't your talent, but you like to bake. The tutoring center needs snacks for the kids and home-baked goodies would be much appreciated!
